AUTUMN

by Robert Daniel Long   Nov 7, 2014

As the light fades
Here at sunset
The last rays of light
Twinkle like diamonds on the lake
The reflections of red, orange and yellow
Begins to resemble the leaves on the trees
In their majestic colors... reminding us
That autumn is here

Like the change of the seasons
So do the changes occur in our lives
Bringing us into life's autumn
The time of reflecting, relaxing
And letting your mind find peace

It's also a time for harvest
To reap the rewards of life
And what you've sown
Setting your spirit free
And with clear eyes
Seeing the path you've walked

Hoping that along the way
You touched someone
Or made a difference in someone's life

So before autumn sets and fades in your life
Look back
Change what you can for the better
We only pass this way once
So let's do it right
