A Truly Happy Poem

While it's true that I love the works of Poe
and melancholy is often a companion of mine
there is something I'd like you to know
I'm not just sad and depressed all the time

Many things do bring me great joy,
such as a lovely dinner date
or time spent with company I enjoy
or even my 404 birthday cake

Sometimes I'm still a kid at heart
I get excited about pastel coloured horses
and I'm super happy looking at some art
and this is fun too, even if I kinda force it

So this then is an oddity
A truly happy poem
a break from all the gloomy doom
for which I'm usually known

And to the friend that inspired this
You make my life more fun
and as far as goes friendships
this is my favourite one

    Jacquie this is gorgeous and adorable!!!! What a fun and light hearted poem,I have one query, but I think I'd rather post it on the pm he he :-) great job honey <3 ha ha well um...its to do with art, so I don't think it would be appropriate to ask it in public ha ha, also, if my parents go to Bible study on Wednesday you wanna come over for a while? :-)

    Its stated to be a happy poem and yet I quite take to the undertones of gloom. Love the last 4 lines!!

      Thank you for taking the time to read this. It was quite a challenge to write something mote light hearted than my normal works but I'm glad you like the results.
