Succumb to Iniquity

by Blake A Eveleigh   Nov 26, 2014

A single tear falls,
Falls down to the shimmering surface,
Of the lonesome stream,
Dark strong trees that tower on both banks,

Man has not walked this ground,
Nor has any will or desire to do so,
The heart opens like a thousand greedy eyes,
To anything that offers a golden reward,

So sad to see, the abandonment,
Of this shimmering place,
Wondrous creatures sing their anomalous melodies,
Accompanied by the blissful wind,

No shadow to descend upon this splendorous quarter,
Golden mist is rises from the stream,
But ignorance has caused dismay,
Reckless blindness had caused panic

So filled with splendour,
So filled with light,
So newly lost to darkness,
So, it was stolen from itself...

    Interesting poem,

The first stanza created an image of a river, and the single tear falling into its stream... I'm not quiet sure what this poem is about but it has a mysterious and haunting tone attach to it.

    on this line:

Golden mist is rises from the stream,

^ is it "is risen" or just "rises"?
