Debating Reason

by Meme   May 4, 2015

Reason still finds
a way to abandon me
by discovering its own
escape within you.
Alas, I crave it more!

Still you keep it.

Jabbing yet; in
another form, a
direct hit to be
aimed at my heart.
Letting me be the one to
let us both go. But I stay just
a little bit longer, to see what is
hidden within your lines of reason.

Wow, I see a connection in this poem to your latest poem.

I like the title, and the idea of the debate you are having. I think this shows again the vulnerable state of mind we can have, and how we can be so insecure and untrusting, that we end up suffering like this and not knowing what to do!

I think you also done well to use the word "abandon" as I feel it adds more vulnerability to the poem, and makes a point of the lonely feeling you are then left with.

I always think as an insecure person, we can over analyse things way too much, and try to find hidden reasons in things that are much more simple than we make them out to be. I often think that sometimes we look for a hidden reason/excuse to believe the worst outcome, because perhaps it would hurt less expecting it to happen and waiting for it to happen, than if we believed it wouldn't happen and it did.

Anyway, I am rambling, but I do really like this and well done for creating another thought-stirring poem for me to read!

Thanks for the comment Saff! And yup, I wrote it with the sane mind state as the one before
