Poems and Songs are Silly

I wrote a song for you, it's really nothing special
Of our current situation, relationship that's mutual

How my feelings changed, from being just platonic
Not as if just happened, was unavoidably quite chronic

Confused mixed emotions, just in recent weeks
When we'd meet I'd 'wanna, kiss more than just your cheeks

We'd go out and hang; we'd stay out after twelve
Good times with the gang, but I'd want you to myself

I remember doing homework, oblivious to all you've mentioned
On the living room sofa, thoughts off other intentions

Anyways I stopped, 'cause it was rather boring
It was beginning to sound, more like just a poem

I just wish I had, the courage to approach you
Didn't want to impose, unintendingly encroach you

Anyways my dad whom, grew in another world
Told me poems and songs are really just for girls

Coming from a guy, it really does sound silly
Neither is it my style, I mean come on...really?
