I Hate Google Maps

by Larry Chamberlin   Sep 3, 2015

I hate Google maps

I love to discover
mysterious places:
castles in Europe,
fields of stone fences
and sheep in Ireland,
the great wall of China,
and the Lion's Head peak
on the Cape peninsula,
all of these can be seen
with the little Google man.

You can take him
to Niagara Falls and
drop him off the precipice,
you can tour Hollywood
and see Rodeo Drive,
the islands of Pacific
lay at your fingertips,
and the grandeur
of the canyons
are but a tap away.

But I hate Google maps,
for when I look
at my own home
the Google man came by
on garbage day
so that trash can sits
in my drive
forever more.

    Hello Larry,

this made me laugh, so job well done.

Google maps is a Marmite phenomenon. Love it or hate it?

My friend's mother was caught walking down her garden path, shopping bags in hands. As for my experience. You can still see my legs dangling out of a lady's bedroom window moments after her husband returned home for an unexpected lunch. Captured on camera, but not by him. I live to be photographed again.

    Well done Larry,

    Take care,

    Michael

My old house showed our neighbors dog, a really messy yard, and mardi gras residue lol. I understand your pain.

Cute little write - definitely brightened my morning.
