He trusts me to rescue him!

by J Nair   Oct 15, 2015

My man whom I completely trust
To take care of me in all trials.
Come storm or heavy showers,
I know i am always sheltered.

My man whom I completely trust.
Walking down dark alleys
Or visiting unknown cities,
I have no fear because he is near
I know I am always protected.

Yet in the safety of our home
If ever a furry grey intruder scampers,
Under foot or furniture;
Before you can bat an eyelid
My man is up on the table top
Hollering out for me.

And then brandishing a broom
I charge out of the room,
Chasing the tiny little goon,
My man is hanging on to his life,
Prancing on the table top.
Until the villain is driven out
Or dead and tossed in the bin.

So life's simple truth is,
The man whom I trust with my life,
Trust's me right back, to rescue him. :)

Very funny and strange that I just published a poem called; Who likes bugs? Then I looked at your poem and had a good laugh, a women with a broom can send any bug to it's tomb! Great write, got my vote.
