Still Echoes

by cassie hughes   Dec 8, 2015

Deafened by the dying blast
they wander
lost and so afraid.
Unknown and faceless in the night,
the victims
of another's hate,
and though the world
continues on,
Attempts to hide it's evil scars.
The sounds still linger,
full of pain,
to echo throughout countless years.

Wow, very powerful words in such a small stanza. I think you captured the graphics well, and how one action can last a lifetime and bring many scars and haunting memories for life.

Your wording was great, and I could hear a war going on around innocent beings who get caught up in becoming victims.

Great fit to the title too.

    Well done

    Hello Cassie

Isn't it sad that we live in a time that inspires us to write poems like this? I mean no slight to your wonderful write but....well, you get my point.
It's always the innocent that suffer, isn't it?
All the best and I hope you are well,
    Ben
