No Children

by Liz   Dec 31, 2015

There were no children in his home.

Only vessels.
Empty vessels full of holes.

Full of holes that caused them
to fill to the brim with secrets.

With secrets too briny, too heavy
to hold,
so they sank and they sank.

They sank into darkness-
where only he could reach.

He could reach when he wanted,
but they were useless to him.

To him the best vessels
were pristine and intact.

Intact until he used them so much
that he filled them with holes
that filled with secrets too heavy
to hold.

--

No... we were never children
in his home.

Poetess paints such a sad poem this week, in true creative form and style. I was so touched when I read this. the angle she took with this was very unique. I was blown away!
