Comments : There's a starman waiting in the sky

What a wonderful poem about a true genius who the entertainment business is certainly worse off without; after all, it doesn't entertain all that much anymore, does it?
It certainly lacks the originality that this man seemed to have an entirely unfair amount of!
The rocket structure of this is magical Michael and will certainly receive a deserved nomination from me!
    All the very best,
    Ben

This is great....your wording and the shape you have penned it into. Then the tribute it is also.
    Wow! Wow!
    Take care

Ok...you've definitely convinced me that you are a Bowie Fan! This is not only a great tribute to the man but...it's also very pleasing to the eye :) I never could figure out how to do shape poetry but you have made it look so damn EASY!

    Nice job Michael :)

    Clever and thoughtful!
Love the shape and control of space (pardon the pun).
    The sentiment is beautifully expressed.
You may have a typo at line15: "them" ~ "then"?

      Hello Larry,

thank you for your comment. I am often guilty for typo's and when I saw your kind direction I checked immediately. On this rare occasion the word, 'them' is correct. Thanks.

I find concrete forms translate slightly differently, depending on the size of screen it is viewed on.

      Thanks again Larry.

    Hello Michael,

I am terribly sorry for my lack of commenting on your piece. The reason that I am saying is this because I noticed that you commented on one of my pieces months ago, but I have not really been in the commenting spirit these days. I still am not, but here I am...just trying.

First off, I would like to say that I am amazed at how you created this shape. I am curious as to how long it took to create this. I have not tried to create a shape from a poem, due to the fear that it would become all jumbled up because of my lack of expertise and my lack of patience. So, I am amazed. I guess I should go ahead and try it sometime.

I like the topic of this poem; it really makes me feel inspired. I like how you used "starman" instead of "astronaut," because that makes the whole poem seem a lot more magical to me. Stars are beautiful, and in a way mysterious if you are not an astronomer, which I am glad to say that I am not. I still like the concept of wishing upon a star, even though I am too old to be doing such things.

I like to believe that one can be whomever they want to be. There will be obstacles in the way, of course, but if you really want it bad enough, this world can be full of endless possibilities.

I don't know if this was the message that you meant to portray, but this is the one that I got from reading your poem. It is a masterpiece.

    Beautiful/inspiring

"But why Not travel beyond this world's bindings, Break free of conformity and find peace?" striking indeed, one can not help but admire this line in this wonder of a great write. I like how this rhetorical reveals what life now has deemed to be, and the reason it caught my eye is that it evokes emotions of reality that has befell this "big blue gift". thank very much Mr Darcy.
