Symphony of Two souls (Collaboration)

by Maple Tree & Ben Pickard   Feb 8, 2016

Shimmering under a sky pitted destiny,
they swirled around tunes, like a damsel
within a demon's heart.

Each spasm of schizophrenic emotions
came in swathes of broiling lava,
gentle currents of calming love.

Broken words and tear-stained
dirges played on piteously plucked
harp strings that bled as they vibrated.

Satanic violins demolish within
crescendo screams; midnight
comes to call upon a blackened sky.

Magnolias flourished by the light of
the moon, roses wept and wilted
in the cruel glare of the sun.

Her highs of mania echoed within
melodies of his broken heart,
depths of their sorrow -
ignites within poetry.

This was fun to write and I want to say, you have more strength in free verse than you give yourself credit for.. :-)

    Hello guys...

two of my favourite poets and ones that without my bias are usually worthy of nomination separately and in this case together.

I will comment in full when I get a chance.

    Nominated.

    Take care,

    Michael
