Crumble

by Michael   Mar 22, 2016

First breath, upon our birth
A journey begins here on earth.

Our path of life makes the way
learn and grow, come what may.

A hope from this day on
a strive to be well and strong.

But life can crack and chip
stormy weathers lash our ship.

What can be done to calm the sea
to help restore, peace and harmony.

A decision maybe made
unsure if this will hinder or aid.

Do we give our soul, another way
or remain on earth, to have our say.

Maybe love could guide us through,
to a place of pastures new.

But maybe love is not enough
to help us from the road of rough.

A road turns cloudy, moody grey
hard to keep the bridge at bay.

A trip, into a stumble
saddened that life has had to crumble.

    Michael,

A real heartfelt piece with an unforced rhyme and structure that help keep the flow and piece smooth.

I like the message in this as life can be tough and sometimes things like love etc do not help, it can be a long slog but we all get there in the end.
