Dark Passenger

Dark passenger

From the depths of hell this demon creeps,
Into my dreams each night.
Feeding on whatever joy I have,
Till I'm to weak to fight.

Memories of pain and failure play,
On repeat in my head.
My body aches and my heart it breaks,
To slaughter, I am led.

The pain it feels to much to bear,
I don't want to go on.
Constant struggle between heart and mind,
Until the break of dawn.

He rides upon my shoulder,
As I go through the day.
You are a failure and you are worthless,
Is all he seems to say.

You failed your family and your wife,
You have no hope, it's gone.
You will never amount to anything,
You've done to much wrong.

I can't out run this demon,
But it does not matter.
It motivates and pushes me,
My dark passenger.

To be better in the future,
To do what i should have done
To be a better husband,
If not to you, then someone.

Nate, another fab write that brought a tear to my eye because none of us are perfect; We all make mistakes.

Your rhythm and flow make the piece gp smooth and makes it an enjoyable read.
