Gutted

I'm trying to keep her alive-

The anguish a mother consumes
is a burden dressed in detailed armor.

I refuse to bury her spirit
under the golden sun
like her father....

and yet she drinks
while being shamed
because she is an addict.

She is my child,
Ill fight for her
until the day
I die.

The message I got from reading this interesting write is that "blood is always thicker than water " and that a mother's love and bond towards her children is always strong. She'll defend and look out for them always. great write

My heart goes out to you while reading this. As a mother we do the best we can, we love our children, try and protect them, guide them and hope the best for them. Addiction can come in many ways and as a mother it is devastating to watch. It will get to the point that we become so consumed with trying to save a child that it will destroy us. From personal experience I had to let go. We always love them and I pray every day that the choice she made will and can lead to the unthinkable. Andrea you are an amazing woman and I can tell a living, caring and devoted mother. Your heart is aching. I keep you all in my prayers. Hugs
