In search of happiness

I shed off my emotions
crowned myself with pride

Journeyed
far away,
in search of happiness.

I can so relate to these two lines. We may call it pride which I have learned is not always a good thing, it's more hurt and pain preventing others to get close. Not to mention there is no trust.

    "Journeyed far away
    in search of happiness"
I think I took this journey for most part of my life searching for something that was missing inside. Others can't make us happy that is something we have to find hopefully one day within ourselves.

Excellent write, short but powerful. Thank you for sharing this. Take care

Hi, I really liked this. We all need to overcome some sort of emotion to be happy whether it be trust, hurt, sadness because without overcoming them we won't be happy.

    I shed off my emotions
    crowned myself with pride
    ^^
I love the opening here, the image of a person shedding off emotion like skin and putting a crown of pride on themselves is quite unique because even though you've been hurt you have your pride, hopefully.

    Journeyed
    far away,
    in such of happiness.
    ^^
A lovely ending. Simple yet speaks many volumes and to the reader because you are shedding off your emotions in search of happiness and as I said before we all deserve it.
I think 'such' should be 'search'

    Take care, Em
