All we know in life
are working hypotheses
until they don't work

    Hello Larry,

I read this the other day and meant to come back to it. The...philosophy of the piece impressed me then and does so now on second reading.
I don't know whether you are a 'Friends' fan but the poem reminded me of an episode where Phoebe and Ross are arguing over the legitimacy of evolution. Her point was that, throughout history, science has repeatedly been proven wrong by science - that fact has often become fiction. Anyway, Ross being a staunch scientist couldn't possibly agree that evolution wasn't real but the audience was left marvelling at Phoebe's demented (but legitimate) logic.
Aside from that, this syntuit is not written correctly. It.......lol :)

Great write, Larry. All the very best,
    Ben

ps. If you are one of those odd creatures who despised Friends, I can only offer you my sincerest apologies...

To work or not to work that's is the hypothetical question.

    Very good Larry.

The unique thing about science, as a system of thought, is that there are no Laws, no fixed points claiming to be the center of the world.
However firmly established is a tenet of science, it is constantly checked for accuracy and discarded or modified as the case demands.
Even Einstein's fundamental principle of relativity is successfully challenged by quantum mechanics.
There are no false gods in science, there is only the search for truth
