Inhale earth's perfume
emanating from moist soil;
drought over, for now.

    Added to my favs, this is freaking awesome.

    This brought back a memory for me being in a park near where I used to live just after the rain in summer, the smell reminded me of being half way around the world just after the rain and the smell was the same and it made me smile so big it was ridiculous - thanks for bring back that memory totally made me smile.

    yep, I googled the title.

    This works as a haiku in the sense that it discusses nature. It works well with the title.
    Not sure if the last line is enough of a turn though.
    I would be tempted to write it as

    'drought over, for now'

    but then I haven't written anything for donkeys years so I may be wrong.
    Or sadistic.

    Hellon your words say so much and it left me with a sadness. You might ask why and you know what it's because the drought may be over but there are worse times to come for many people unfortunately. Great write though, Em
