Broken Heart

by Karan   Mar 24, 2017

The beginning of dawn as the skies turn red,
laying on the ground with my arms stretched.
The light pierces through my translucent body,
kindling my will, and dare me to fly again.

As shattered dreams, my hope crumbles,
pulling the weight of betrayal my soul humbles,
Asking myself is it a dream or a figment of my imagination
that I see you fly away with every fleeting moment.

Seeping tears through the cleft of my eyes,
narrating the chronicles of my failed efforts.
Each attempt I make, I pushed you further away,
Would we ever again dance in a mid summer rain?

Persuaded by my heart, I make one final attempt
with a hope that my broken heart would mend,
Plying the symphony of my tormented heart,
I bid you farewell as my soul departs.

Enjoyed this one as well. Just a quick note... Did you intend "pigment" in line 7? Or figment?
