Acquaintance

by Karan   Mar 21, 2017

Sitting on the edge of a pier,
staring at the silent lake.
I wonder if it’s you or the ghost from my past,
keeps haunting me to conceal your thoughts.

Autumn breeze moves tenderly shrivelling the,
memories which I once kept apart.
I feel vulnerable and lonely without you,
and life seems obscured and bleak.

Melodies of love once sung now lay shattered on the ground,
I follow the trails of leaves September leaves.
With a hope that I might find you one day
but the fading leaves acquaint me it's too late.
