Rubbish

by Michael   Jul 3, 2017

Frozen eyes glared; a chill in your stare
your mouth dry; lip balm couldn’t soften
the blow; which bellowed; emptied from
your lungs full of frosty; culpable air

you stabbed my heart; punctured it with shame
humiliation gushed; pouring from wounds
contaminating our bond; trust poisoned
a callous victory for your emotional gain

you secretly; sloped off to a place; greener
leaving me! So! what unity was our colour!?
Of love!? Black!? Blue1? Grey!?
Darker tones; shades of far meaner?

Your tongue rolled denial! Over and over again
my ears drowned; deafened by your deceit
teaching your lies, to ring true
twisting words; blending me into your game

Well, now...

You’ve dumped your detritus all over me
the sad truth...

Painful..

relief!

Michael, wow (ok, so I'm borrowing from other comments, lol). This really is a powerful raw write- I loved your layout and the pauses added to the entire tone. Well done-

This is so intense, Michael. I love where all the ; are placed, they created really effective pauses in this piece.
