Choking back tears
As I stare into space
Though my efforts are useless
And saltwater drips down my face
No one understands
The pain that I feel
Not even me but
I know it is real
I only want to be invisible
For no one to notice me
And for a long while
That was how it seemed to be
But now suddenly people do
Some even stop and stare
And although they say they do
I know that they don’t care
