Asphalt and Azurite

by Aegis   Jul 17, 2017

One look-

one solitary zaffre glance
cast haphazardly in
my direction...

and I was shackled by the
very cobalt chains that
once set my cold
wrists free.

I do love your word choice! It's quite a sad poem although so little has been said.

In hindsight, it sounds a little more morose than intended. Having said that-

maybe being shackled by the right things makes me feel free :)
