Verses of Hope

by Muhammad Muhammad Mayaki   Nov 3, 2017

Here I am
Nursing my wounds
Pains, so deep
Chasing me out of the realm

Oh winter
Why have you forsaken me
For this summer
Has raped my voice

I inhaled forlornness
Then exhaled despair
While it weaved around
Clouds of darkness

Caging my limbs
With my frail fingers
I wielded a whirlwind storm
And smote the smoky clouds

Then came the rage
A sweetened voice
Of the rhythmical thunder
Spitting, drizzles of hope

Like an angered serpent
off, to the shore
Through the grasses
Scribing, verses of hope
