The power of touch

by Michael   Mar 3, 2018

Your hands were sails carved-
from the genesis that also
sculptured your heart
enriched with a marinade;
soaked in bergamot oil

with your palms-set
you begin to warm
from the mouth of the estuary

gently you navigate-
a passage up;
ploughing through my skin
disturbing what lies beneath the surface

fraught with tension-
knots that tied up truths with deceit
and love was drowning in shallow loins

vigorously-
you rowed back and forth;
massaging your strength
deep into the recesses-
opening-up channels
where my body flooded with tears;
weeping from pores that
were once blocked with shame

my tendons screaming-
with spasms of relief
your persistence anchored;
In the depths of joy and pain
I persevered until you burned
out the fire within.

finally we rested
beneath a lavender sunset

    This sounds so cathartic Michael, like metaphorical therapy. I love how you weave the senses around your work, it makes it so alive! :-) x
