In the moonlight

by Timothy   Mar 15, 2018

Darkness falls, and it's time to be afraid,
Hiding under the covers, in a fortress she made;
The clock ticks, but time seems to stand still,
There won't be sleep until....

A sound of a creaking floor board,
A slinking shadow that inches forward;
A security only he shows,
A never-ending nightmare she knows.

Why does it happen, why is it allowed?
Where is mommy, why is there this shroud?
No one to turn to in the dead of the night,
No liberation in the moonlight.

    Gulp :-( Always a difficult subject to write and read about Timothy. I think you've expressed the helplessness really well :-) x

    Had to re read this. The topic is sad. It's a well composed rhyme Timothy.
