Pillar

by Maher   Jun 30, 2018

They drain from pretty eyes,
the baggage with the tides;
the pain that's felt is all too real
and it breaks away her smile.
The coldness of it's lies -
Life in it's disguise;
it drops the sky upon her back
and wagers her demise.

But faith will never keel
while I'm there to tie her will.
May the mountains fall in utter loss
before darkness finds it's heels.
I'll chase away the tides
that plague those pretty eyes
and piece by piece, I'll save those lips
and mend her broken smile.
