You are my sunshine
when darkness swallows
my feet, smiling gently-
safely I reach my destination.

Birds struggles have been so
hard on us and yet you find
it within your heart to pull me
back up- My youngest, my light.

I disappointed you in life at times
failed you and still you see the good
in my soul and as your mother
I am truly blessed with your presence.
