Halloween

Halloween is an interesting time full of fun for many. I love seeing families wandering around all in fancy dress doing their trick or treating and how some people go to great lengths to decorate their houses.

Its a time for families to create costumes together, play traditional Halloween games and make decorations. For neighbours and strangers to exchange pleasantries in the street and comment on each others costumes and an evening of ghost stories etc.

The choice is trick or treat so I usually get a choice of things like plastic spiders, balloons and vampire teeth as well as sweets. I think its a wonderful time (anything that gets families out and about together instead of sitting at home in front of their mobile phones or computers is good in my mind) but yes I agree too many sweets can be bad. At first glance it seems quite an innocent and light hearted poem. However it has deeper undertones.
