Music To My Ears:

by Scott Cole   Oct 13, 2018

My ticket is in hand
For the best show in town,
Front row and center
To watch it all go down.

The big stage is set
Yet the curtain still drawn,
When the moment is right
The bright lights will come on.

My heart is overwhelmed
My eyes are overworked,
Can't wait untill it's showtime
Cause my anticipations on alert.

There's still plenty of seating
The event isn't sold out,
For there's still some individuals
That's still on holdout.

But for me I'm a roadie
I live for this stuff,
It stimulates my heartbeat
I just can't get enough.

Soon the darkness will set
And I will bear witness,
To the greatest show on Earth
To ever rejuvenation my stillness.

But until that trumpet sounds
I'll be waiting right here,
Listening for those golden harps
To bring sweetness to my ears.

Nice work! Smoothly rhymed. I imagined myself joining the audience and getting excited myself for the greatest show I am about to see while reading your poem. ^.^ This inspires me to write something exciting as well. ^.^
