Wishing for a Friend

by Charles   Jul 12, 2004

You walk by
Silent tears begin to cry.
You barely cast me a look
I'm not worth the time you took.
You smile at another
I'm just a bother.
You call him a friend
I wish I was dead.

All I wanted was a friend
Yet you ignored me 'till the end.
Here I work to end my life
Because nothing in it was ever right.
I waited for you to give me a chance
But you never even gave me a glance.
Now as I lay here and die
I hope you realize why I cry.
All I needed was a simple smile
It could've lasted me for a while.
All I needed was an occasional hug
Yet I lie here in the grave I dug.
All because you ignored me until the end
And all I ever wanted was a friend.
