My Silver-Tongue Friend 2: <The Return>

by Scott Cole   Jun 5, 2019

Hey there again pretty girl
I knew you would be back,
For hearts are prone to darkness
When they've been ransacked.

Bless your poor little heart
I feel the pain your in,
It's written all over your face
And running down your chin.

So be my guest my friend
Grab you a tissue or two,
And wipe your misery away
For they stick to you like glue.

Too bad those other onlookers
Don't accept yourself for you,
For real beauty isn't made of skin
Those things that eyes can view.

Shame, shame on all of them
But it's their lost not yours,
So please don't hang your head
You'll soon recover like before.

So stare into my deep soul
And believe these words I bring,
Darling it was never true love
It was but just a little fling.

That's the brutal truth
Have I ever lied to thee,
For I call it like I see it
Isn't that why you come to me.

So take a few deep breathes
Do trust me when I say,
One day you'll find your Romeo
And I'll be your cast away.

For you my dear are the fairest
The fairest of them all,
For none my friend compares to you
Says your mirror mirror on the wall.
