Eternal Answer

by Larry Chamberlin   Jul 3, 2019

“Dad? What is the meaning of life?”
I used to concern myself with that
question, my son, when I was younger.
It led me into troublesome strife
yet never an answer was I apt
though questing ever did I hunger.

I met a girl in thundering storm
who guided me down a different path
not realizing I’d left the road
her hazel eyes were so bright and warm
discovered philosophy and math
were subjects meaningless to decode.

Always since I have traveled with her
no regret I’d left the cave of mind
to travel fields of dream become real
so my world has become your mother
roads before continue to unwind
family has gained the cosmic seal.
