Fatherhood

by Aearion   Jul 4, 2019

When you first came into my life
I was not sure if at this time I was ready
Everyday after I was always thinking twice
Was I ready to make this life steady

Now you are at that age of seven
Everyday I feel was was a blessing as you stole my heart
I found myself thinking where you sent from heaven
Just sent to me from above to leave that mark

Maybe sent here to look after me
Because everyday with you seems so bright
I sit and wonder how your life will be
I do my part for you my son to make it right

In this life I will do my best
To raise you right and pass life's test

Well, I wouldn’t considered it a complete sonnet. You have the rhyme scheme. You have fourteen lines. However, you are missing the metrical structure and the Volta. Regardless of that, this is a lovely poem. I enjoy it. Sons and daughters are blessings.
