Memories of you

Memories of you
†††
I laid there broken and I am now frightened of the night,
The sorrow in my soul bleeds as I wept dreadful tears,
Never knowing my heart could be severed into pieces,
And the darkness never fades even after all of these years...

Recalling the delicate scent of your skin as I embraced you in my arms,
I can remember your jet-black hair and how it glistened in the wind,
But the asperity when you turned and you walked away so merciless,
The dagger buried so deep in my soul pierced right through my skin...

Etched so deeply within me like it was carved in stone,
Your impassioned kisses could draw my breath silently away in the night,
An emotional love I never really knew had existed within me,
And the way that you apathetically egressed as you left me to die...

And to die without death leaving a heart wretched to the core,
Tearfully laying on the ground in the dampened shadowed lawn,
You showed no emotion as you disappeared into the mist,
Leaving me tattered and torn incapable of discerning the right from the wrong...

All I wanted was to live within you in an eternity of life and of love,
But all that is gone now as is the only love I ever knew,
How can I go on living with no future of us ahead?
Sorrow the only memory of the time I spent with you.

Not knowing where you are or why you went away from me,
I thought our love was intimately weaved in a lover’s dream,
But tragically I failed to heed their fore-warnings of the emotions,
Forever now life will never be just what it seems…

Nothing…
To never return, this is goodbye...

“You showed no emotion as you disappeared into the mist, ”

I like the imagery in some of these lines. For instance the above sentence. I am with With Alex, I felt your sorrow. Thank you for sharing.

'Leaving me tattered and torn incapable of discerning the right from the wrong,' this line captured my attention. I bet most of us might have somehow experienced it before. Also, i felt your sorrow.
