In Love That Lost

by Mark   Aug 26, 2019

O' turn the sun to where she now resides;
That here be dark, and there she's cast in full,
Then if my heart does see, the heart abides
Into the brightest dream of strongest pull.
For in that golden glow, love has returned;
Brought forth on tips of rays, that shined before,
And has convinced that moment never spurned,
How happily deceived, my soul in yore!
Tho' each light brings an older shadow 'neath;
Immersed am I, that sadness hides in trance;
Within her blaze of auras, suns do wreath
As deep am I as then when were my chance.

I love the love that lost, not love to be
Now love is past, the past of her and me.

    Ah Mark, I just love your way of writing classic sonnets with classical language, they fit so well. Lovely if a little sad :-) x
