The Cracked Light

by Anne Moore   Aug 30, 2019

I go to church with a boy so I may learn about god as he feels up my thighs
I go to church with a boy so I may learn about grace as he lifts my shirt
I go to church with a boy so I may learn about beauty as he calls me a dirty little tramp,
an ugly thot
I go to church with a boy so I may learn about the goodness of the world as his lustful eyes eat me up

I go to an abandoned ally with a boy so that I may learn about god as he reads me passages he wrote
I go to an abandoned ally with a boy so that I may learn about grace as he teaches me to dance a four step
I go to an abandoned ally with a boy so that I may learn about beauty as he holds me in his arms
I go to an abandoned ally with a boy so that I may learn about the goodness of the world as he serves others before himself

Sometimes society is wrong
Sometimes society is ignorant
But My safe zone is somewhere you might not expect
and I feel danger in places you don't

Thank you so much Star! I based it around something that happened to a friend of mine and then the stereotype of online friendships.
