Pebbles in my Heart

by Maple Tree   Oct 2, 2019

Each year,
my skeletal frame
drops a notch-
adding a pebble

to float
along the bottom
of
my
heart.

Its a heavy weight
to carry
as my tears
float without
a life jacket.

My soul
will soon be
at the bottom
of the ocean;
and you wont
see my hand
waving goodbye.
