Summer

by Tanya Southey   Oct 11, 2019

All those summers,
when innocence
was bronzed,
and love grew
ripe on apple trees

All those summers
when laughter,
dappled in the leaves
and everyone you loved
was whole and near
and vital

All those summers
now in black and white
and those remaining
ask “who is that?”
in the picture that
defined your life

I saw my parents in your poem. I remembered the time when I was really young, and their photo albums with pale colors. That every time we open, it’s like opening a whole new world. So many stories of people I don’t even know.
    Lovely poem ^_^
