There's Days!

There's day's when I realise
How much help I really need
When I can't go and do that
Unless someone takes the lead

I know this is my everyday
And it usually doesn't bother me
But today is not one of them
As today "I can't" is all I see

I can't be independent
I can't clean up my room
I can't go where I want to
I can't pick up my dropped spoon

I can't just leave this prison
I can't just walk away
I can't turn off the light switch
At the end of everyday

I can't get in a bath tub
Or wash myself at all
I can't do nothing but just sit here
Except sigh staring blankly at the wall

I can't are not the words
I usually focus on, but
There's days I just can't help it
Even though I know it's wrong

I can't pretend it's perfect
As life is hit & miss
There's days that make me
want to go back, If only to change this.

But I can't go back & change it
Only accept & then move through
And be thankful that those days
Are not the many but the few.
