First Stage Of Loss

by Lainie Reay   Nov 18, 2020

The eerie silence is an echoless sound
Miserably beating & starting to pound
A Silenced distress with a cessation style
Shocked disbelief, as the mind copes in denial.

Losing someone you love hurts you, and engulfs you until you can't think of anything else. At the time, it feels like nothing can console you.... Eventually it gets better, even though you never forget who you lost.
So many people can relate to this, as you have put the exact emotions of loss into an excellent poem. It's short, beautiful, sad, perfect, and you've displayed the feelings people have after someone passes away in just four sentences. This is just.... Stunning.I hope you'll be in a better place soon.

      Thank you Keira.

I'm still struggling to believe it's really in a way. My Mam passed away on the 10th November, My dad the 5th October and my Auntie the 12th August. I just feel extremely lost & broken and also numb.

An abrupt piece but one that I think says it like it is. Sometimes there aren't more words, or we aren't ready for the explanations and emotions and questions we have. When we deal with a loss, it takes time and heartache to be able to even start to process it. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you. It is all very raw right now and this is how I truly feel right now.
