You Shouldn't Kick a Man

by Glenn G   Nov 14, 2019

My wife left me
Took her boyfriend, my kids
Then left town

All I had left was my house
My farm
A few fly infested cows
Some Mangy hogs
And our old dead bloodhound

You shouldn't kick a man when he's already down

You showed me no compassion
Offered me no help
Laughed at my misfortune
Until I heard you yelp

Paranoia, schizophrenia
It all started from a lack of sleep
Delusions of grandeur at times
Hopelessness at others
I remember the day I knocked you off your feet
We had always been just like brothers
It took all my strength just to carry this frown

You shouldn't kick a man when he's already down

Absolutely right, you really shouldn't kick a man when hes down. Well expressed.
