Sugar in the Sand

by Angie   Dec 12, 2019

Walking along the sandy shore
salt water lapping at bare feet
children in brightly colored swim suits
jumping waves while others build
castles in the sand
puppies catching frisbees in mid air
and babies delightful screams
blankets scattered among seashells
some hidden under striped umbrellas
young lovers, kissing, laughing
applying suntan lotion on each other
sea gulls fly with the sea breeze
and the warmth of the sun heats a lonesome heart
that's filled with
sugar in the sand memories
