Another Empty Night

by Phantom Lord   Dec 23, 2019

As the sun sets
Darkness settles in
Another day ends
A new one soon to begin

Another long night ahead
To reflect upon my life
Alone I sit in the darkness
And struggle with the knife

Should I end it all
Or should I find the way
If I stumble and fall
Can I make it through the day?

As I sit and wonder why
My life passes before my eyes
It's then I realize
It isn't my turn to die

As I sit by the window
Waiting for the morning light
Another day will begin
And I've decided to fight

Life has so many ups and downs but it also has a way of surprising you with its many twists and turns. Sometimes things have to be broken right down to make room for a new and better path but be sure that ten and twenty years from now your life will be different in ways you cannot imagine right now. Sending you a warm hug and wishes that 2020 will be a much better year for you. Milly x

Phantom Lord I have felt very much the same once before, and its still a struggle today. I enjoyed reading your poem because it started out with a lot of emotion and ended the same. You started of making it seem like you've possibly given up hope but then you realize you should fight to live another day. I hope somebody chooses your poem for a winner for the poetry contests. good luck love and keep fighting.
