Would!

by Lainie Reay   Dec 29, 2019

If there's a chance to try again
This time blocking out the pain
Would it make it easier?
Would your mind be free?
Would you feel less guilty?
Would you still cry yourself to sleep?
Some questions are never to be answered
Some truths to be left unknown
Like the fate our future has planned for us
The path we choose, we can never know
Stop listening to the ghosts & the demons
Break your invisible wall with one throw
For you, are forgiven
Can you allow yourself to let go?

Glad to see you posting more, Lainie! I know it's been a few months.

I LOVE the message and introspection here. This reminds me of how often we overthink. Even this morning, I was telling my mom how exhausting it is when I question myself, on even the simplest of decisions. I think of the outcome, how that could have been better, and I scold myself for not trying every second of the day. But I can't live like that. I have to accept I'm human. I'll get upset, I'll make mistakes, I have to let go and stop trying to go back and indulge these ghosts and demons each time.

This was so thoughtful and I really connected with it each read-through!

      Thank you.

It is so true, we are own worst enemies constantly overthinking about the could of's, should of's etc and then guilt tripping ourselves for the decisions we did or didn't make. I hope you are able to let go of the ghosts & demons that keep you chained :)
