The Falling

by Star   Jan 15, 2020

For now;

she clashes with everyday life
and with every moment, she falls
into the realms of her nightmares.

Distinguishing between day and night,
is now more like trying to figure out
whether she should take a deep
breath amidst a fire.

The rage
is rubbing her the wrong way;
the heat is kneading her.

The scent of burning fur
infuriates her soul,
while paralyzing the life left
within her.

    I'm wasn't quite sure how to interpret this. Simply a person's struggle with the daily rigours of life that can lead to a 'fall' into the abyss/depression? Not sure. Anyway, the imagery is wonderful and the formatting made me feel I was falling into the depths of hell as I read!

    Well done and all the best as ever, Star,
