Random august 1

Dear,
you are like old gunpowder
slightly toxic yet explosive
you make me see fireworks

with your smoke
and your incandescent and
luminiscent lights
you blind me

Love,
You are like gunpowder.
Love,
You could kill me.

    LUCE!!!

This poem truly deserves a title, I can't believe this is random...

I love the blunt simile, and the tone of this, kind of teetering on the border of too dangerous but you are drawn in at the same time. I also like the "slightly toxic" part, as it makes me think that some relationships are not this black-and-white idea, there may be an uneven balance of good vs questionable, and what makes it even harder is if we feel that connection to somehow even when we know they could hurt us. Whether intentionally or not. Or perhaps it's in the openness and vulnerability that we really expose all parts of ourselves we may have hidden away to protect before. So there's even more chance to be harmed. But is it worth it? Do we go "all in" with our love?

Such a thought-provoking piece, with that one simile starting it!

Thank you MA! Do you know why I call some poems random? It’s because when I write them, I just write whatever comes. It’s like I let the voice inside dictate what I should write. At the time of writing I don’t have anything in mind per se. So I have no clue as to how to title it.
