Ruby and Opal

by Maple Tree   Aug 17, 2020

Thousands of emeralds
cradle my skeletal frame
as I lay basking within my
paradise.

Pearly blankets hover
like a Mother watching
her sleeping babe-
turquoise fiber nestles
tween sleepy limbs.

Ruby waves goodbye
as Opal takes over the
night watch;

I cover diamonds
slowly, drifting
away to dreamland.

    Im saying this a lot but this soooo beautiful. I got mixed emotions after reading this, there is sadness, strength, comfort, happiness, anger. So much packed into it, it really is powerful!
