untitled

She’s gonna take credit for what I’ve done
She’s gonna say she raised a good kid but I feel like she raised me none
She’ll say she’s uplifting, that she supported my dreams
But it seems like the truth is, she’s always been jealous of me
The first to be published, I played in the band
But when I needed her most, she never lended her hand
She was so condescending, I don’t think she ever cared
So when she speaks of my success just know I’m the one that got me there

** this is really rough; sort of just a spew of words from my mind **

Parents too often are the bane of our lives when they should be the complete opposite.

It's a wonderful piece of spew, haha!
I think of this as a poem about mother and daughter, ( personally) being narrated by the latter. It's a sad, but powerful poem. The ryhmes were very good! I enjoyed it.
