Defiant

I lock all the doors and the windows I latch
You might be cunning but your prowess I match
There is no way that I'm letting you in
I'm determined tonight there's no suffering

I lie in my bed but still leave on a light
Scan my surroundings before switching to night
Lying perfectly still with my ears on the prowl
There is no way that you'll get to me now

With nothing but silence my heartbeat now slows
You have met my match and cannot oppose
Smiling and relaxed while I'm lying down
But then I hear noise and it turns to a frown

Panicked I gasp with my body tense
In complete darkness and my ears only sense
Then I hear you as you enter my room
No this can't be happening how did it resume?

Under my pillow a weapon I hid
You think you're clever but soon you'll be rid
Ready for action the light I switch on
As I search for you and soon you'll be gone

Adrenalin pumping for you I now snipe
I suddenly see you and then take a swipe
You're too quick I miss it's my lamp which explodes
Now in complete darkness I'm in soldier mode

I hear you, you're moving and are very near
As I swing and I swipe but you I still hear
I retreat when my mirror instead which is struck
Now it's smashed and I have seven years bad luck

I lie on my bed and only feel shame
Destroying my room and it's all me to blame
Defeated and now I'm forced to comply
For I am no match to you just a fly
