The Perfect Shot

by cassie hughes   Dec 14, 2020

Autumn’s palette
spreads out before me
and I smile
as between oak and ash
I spot my prey.
My shot is clear.
The silent shutter falls
upon the great stag
as he confronts his rival
in picturesque beauty.

You perfectly captured such a precise moment in time, a moment where you almost have to hold your breath to take a photograph without being noticed. Nature is full of wonders!

Between the cross hairs the great stag stopped, looked into the lens and smiled.
Nice poem, leading the reader to thinking about a hunter with a gun. The shot an image ready to be painted.
